EDIT: OH MY GOD IT HAS A HEADS UP DISPLAY THAT IS QUITE LITERALLY THE COOLEST THING I'VE SEEN

My dad has spent more that this maintaining a mid-range LeSabre with 200,000 miles on it, when that money could get one with half the miles and EVERY FEATURE YOU COULD IMAGINE. Heated seats. Do want. Remote start = much yes because cold winters. Dat interior coloring (I didn't know they made it brown/black). Also has the performance handling package which has a rear sway bar, 24mm front sway bar (17mm is stock), high-rate springs, GT tires, and I believe different transmission gearing.

So much want.

I'm sorry but I'd go with a park avenue ultra 10 times out of 10 over a LeSabre of similar vintage for the same price - 2003 Park Avenue Ultra

The bigger sway bars make a huge difference. I'm thinking of dropping $120 to buy a new front sway bar for my plebian non-celebration-edition LeSabre.

Not a huge fan of the Park Ave. Yeah, it's faster, but the styling falls a bit short and I don't believe it has as many features available.

I'm not sure, but on any early-2000s GM vehicle it was certainly a rare option. This is the first car I've seen to have that option box ticked.

Never mind. Supercharged Bonneville with HUD. Also has a reverse Alabama Squat as standard due to ride level sensor being borked up, and needs a paint job. I wonder how much those things would cost...

Lots of early to mid 2000s grand prixs had them but a lot of them broke too. It is entirely possible for one to have the option but the owner not know since the projector/mirror system broke and somewhere in the dash you can tell your MPH and MPG and direction and whatnot.

Theres a black LeSabre Ultra, 3.8 SC that comes into my shop once in a while. Has HUD, Im not ashamed to say I love that car.

Ive also seen HUD on Pontiac Azteks and Buick Rendezvous.

I don't like the PA in white or beige but in silver, silver/green (don't remember what that paint is called), and especially black, I think it is one of the most attractive large sedans in recent memory. I love it when it's been lowered a touch and given 17" wheels. When I had a riviera, one of the guys in our club had a PAU and it was a BEAST. Incredibly nice ride despite the suspension work (I think he had to convert the rear's airbags to normal springs/struts) while also looking quite mean for a newer buick.

And I never liked the styling of the last two generations of the lesabre, myself. I'd take a 90s riv over a PAU, a PAU over the 90s-2000s regal GS, and that regal GS over the rest of the 90s-2005 buicks. But I guess that's why buick had two models for each size?

Why not? Here are some numbers:


5th-generation V6 Mustang: 3,401 lb curb weight

2001 Buick LeSabre: 3,572 lb curb weight

That's less than a 200 pound difference between a sports coup and a pseudo-luxury sedan. Let's continue.

Mustang: 73.8 inches wide, 187.6 inches long, 54.5 inches high

LeSabre: 73.5 inches wide, 200 inches long, 57 inches high

So the Lessie really isn't that much larger than a V6 pony car, nor much heavier. I don't see any reason suspension upgrades wouldn't make it carve up an autocross course just as well as any other car.
